Why Attend a Reiki
Share Group?
For those who have taken courses in Reiki, in the
aftermath one of the major complaints from students/practitioners is the lack of
opportunity to practice and hone their skills.
Without receiving feedback from others, it is difficult
to build self-confidence to a level where you are totally comfortable
with yourself as a healer. You need practical hands-on experience in
order to encourage self-esteem as a Reiki practitioner, where you accept
without scepticism, that you truly do make an important contribution to
someone else's well-being.
Another problem that occurs is that unless you can
practice on others, it is difficult to develop your own system of
assessment. It takes time to recognize or identify indicators of
mind-body-soul imbalance for these relate to each practitioner in a very
individualistic manner. You also need continued practice in order to
form your own personal communication dialogue technique, between you and
your client, in order to reveal your findings or to suggest a proper
course of action and follow-up treatment plan.
Through practice, you develop focused intention, plus
you increase the amount of Reiki or universal energy channelled through
you to others. The more you practice Reiki, the stronger your connection
is to the universal source. Most practitioners require time to fine-tune
and strengthen their grounding, protection, cleansing and scanning
techniques or to learn when to use the symbols to consciously direct
energy. It also takes considerable time to build an inner awareness for
determining subtle energies and what they may personally mean to you.
Although Reiki originates from traditional
Usui Shiki
Ryoho, it has branched into many variances, each supporting additional
techniques or symbols. It is always wise to question the practical
aspects of any course that you undertake and Reiki is no exception.
Whether you are a Reiki practitioner, student or teacher, it is always
healthy to question the methods or the reasons for being taught certain
techniques. Any information that is shared must be evaluated from your
heart or soul, so if it feels sensible then accept it, but if it makes
you uncomfortable or it seems illogical, then search for a workable
solution.
The objective for attending any Reiki share is to
provide an opportunity for achieving the above specifics. As well as
offering like-minded companionship, it also gives each member a chance
to openly discuss related challenges, share different techniques,
practice and hone their skills, plus teach each other practical, but diverse
approaches to healing. And it gives each person a golden
opportunity to value and respect our differences, while we live, love
and heal through combined team effort.
So where and how do you find a Reiki share group?
The first place to inquire is through your Reiki teacher. Quite
often teachers will offer a monthly or bi-monthly Reiki share to their
students, either freely or for a nominal fee, so that they can monitor
the student's progress, plus assess their comprehension of Reiki.
Some teachers may insist that you attend Reiki shares before taking the
next Reiki level. If your teacher does not offer a Reiki share, then
for a nominal drop-in fee, you
can attend the Reiki exchange offered by the Canadian Reiki Association (CRA)
in your vicinity. More information and additional Reiki exchange
links can be obtained from their website
www.reiki.ca. Other sources for
Reiki shares or exchanges are sometimes advertised in local community newspapers, New
Age or wellness magazines and of course there is also The Vancouver Reiki
Share which you can join through
Meetup.com.
