Spiritual/Inspirational Poetry
Where Do I Go
From Here?
If you have ever thought that you made it to the top,
think again, step back and assess what you have got.
What is it that you have acquired over the sequence of years,
is it money or fame, a fancy house or a heart heavy with tears?
Maybe you have reached a time when you can enjoy and sit back,
reflecting on your success or do you feel completely off track?
Or perhaps you now wonder if you exist, contented in life,
or do thoughts of, "Where do I go from here", stab you like a knife?
This question may arise from restlessness or from remorse,
when your soul is unhappy, it realizes it’s off course.
Or sometimes you will be plagued at a very early age,
with doubts gnawing on your consciousness, that’s fully engaged.
"Where do I go from here?" lights a fire within to make you wince,
nattering and nagging, unrelenting, until you are convinced.
That there is a greater truth or need for your existence in this life,
inducing re-evaluation of your standards day and night.
Your emotions become entangled in a struggle of give and take,
now what are your priorities and what changes must you make?
And how many times will you ask, "Where do I go from here?"
only to face illusions of uncertainty and fear.
To answer with truthfulness; a factor you cannot hide,
you may have to release attitude built on ego and pride.
Before you can hear the quiet voice beckoning you nearer,
encouraging and promising your confusion will be clearer.
And each time you dwell on the uncertainty of your direction,
take time to search within your soul with confident reflection.
Then search for signals or signs that will reveal your true course,
"Where do I go from here?”" fuels movement filled with force.
The key to your success in answering your query,
is to find true balance, where you no longer feel leery.
About the opinions of others; they won’t matter at all,
as long as you believe, that you are following your call.
And no matter what you do, if you can live in your truth,
"Where do I go from here?" offers its reward as proof.
For it’s not an acquisition, rather it’s a state of mind,
and once you have arrived, bliss and joy you will find.
