Transform into Joyfulness by Letting Go

Simplify Your Life

In our present fast-paced, trend-setting, goal-oriented and status-seeking society, how many feel truly joyful and contented with their lifestyle and living standard?  How many feel joyfulness bursting forth for no better reason than loving who you are?  If you are unable to relate to this, then perhaps it is time to simplify your life by learning to let go.

Letting Go is Daunting

Learning to let go is a daunting task to undertake, but the benefits are far-reaching.  Release sets you free to follow your desired and focused passionate pursuits.  No longer will you feel that you are expected to live by imposed standards or to become something that you are not.

Evaluate Yourself

It is necessary to truthfully and microscopically evaluate yourself, layer by layer, until you reach the basics of the real authentic you.

Hard Work and Discipline

But this requires hard work, plus perseverance, as well as constant disciplined dedication.  Strong resistance to letting go or to making changes are often produced from fear and fear is created from your ego.  Ego dislikes change, preferring to remain in an alleged safe and comfortable state.  It will take strength, plus courage to overcome the obstacles that ego imposes, but in doing so you gain priceless personal freedom.

More Destruction

Ignoring harmful issues will generate a lack of confidence in pursuing your natural ability to fulfill your potential.  This in turn will produce a lack of self-respect or an absence of self-love which leads to a lack of self-esteem, plus a lack of self-worth – destruction that you can ill-afford.

15 Key Areas to Address

To anticipate joyful accomplishment requires positive change.  Some areas that may need to be addressed and then modified or changed are:

  1. Bad habits

  2. Unrealistic materialistic goals

  3. Clutter

  4. Unhealthy relationships or situations

  5. Dysfunctional behaviour patterns

  6. Control issues

  7. Stubbornness

  8. Financial ignorance

  9. Laziness

  10. Unreliable or irresponsible attitude

  11. Procrastination

  12. Lack of awareness or focus

  13. Emotional trauma

  14. Stress

  15. Lack of discipline

Begin to Transform

  1. Bad Habits – This may include behaviour, attitudes or addictions such as drugs, food, gambling, alcohol or pleasuring your senses to the exclusion of rationality.  Learn to let go of whatever is not impacting your life with constructive development.  Your goal is to use moderation and common sense to achieve a balanced life.

  2. Unrealistic Materialistic Goals – This may include trying to reach ego-driven goals that are only to prove a point or to please someone else.  Setting goals gives momentum to seek and achieve your dreams, but just be sure that the goals are realistic; otherwise you risk setting yourself up for failure.  Pursuing goals should be a learning adventure that promotes your own growth which benefits you at the soul level.

  3. Clutter – Living in clutter creates mental, plus emotional disorganization and chaos, thus inhibiting mindful conscious clarity.  This also indicates an uncaring attitude, plus lack of responsibility and a lack of self-respect towards self.  Let go of the urge to accumulate unnecessary material acquisitions - learn to live with fewer possessions.  The flow of positive energy becomes stuck and blocked to the point where you keep attracting the same frequency of energy back to you.  So in order to break the cycle and attract positive new energy to you, it is necessary to clear space for it and to live within a peaceful, plus clean environment.

  4. Unhealthy Relationships or Situations – This includes any relationship, whether family, friend or workmate, that does not provide free-will or prevents you from developing your own personal power.  A relationship that incites jealousy, distrust, greed and rage or is built upon ownership, dominance or manipulation of another, is doomed for disaster.  In order to attract more positive-minded people into your life, be willing to let go of relationships that no longer serve you well.  If you find yourself in an undesirable or stagnant situation, whether work related or personal, it is necessary to let go and to become independently self sufficient in order to create a more joyfully fulfilling life.

  5. Dysfunctional Behaviour Patterns – If you feel stuck in a rut, spinning your wheels in the same track and going nowhere, it is evident that you are not learning your life lessons.  Until dysfunctional behaviour is addressed, you will continue to repeat the same undesirable issues.  Therefore, it is necessary to be willing to let go of or to change any behaviour pattern that is limiting positive progress.

  6. Control Issues – Learn to let go of trying to control others or to control circumstances surrounding you, because ultimately this is a waste of your own energy resources.  Free-will only gives you control over what you do regarding your own life circumstances.  Search for the lesson that each person or situation provides and once you have learned the lesson, let go and move on.  When dealing with others, it is better to compromise and to strike a healthy balance in all situations.

  7. Stubbornness – Whether you are right or wrong, this is when you are so pig-headed that you refuse to bend, compromise or give in.  But the effect prevents positive personal growth and also stunts your learning process.  Because it also alienates people from you and prevents the development of positive relationships, you risk becoming nothing but a lonely, obstinate and angry person.  Letting go of this behaviour will enable you to become more tolerant, more accommodating, more patient, more loving, more balanced and more joyful.

  8. Financial Ignorance – Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to your financial status.  The era of easy credit has lead many into financial grief and crisis.  To be released from this ball and chain nightmare, own up to your ignorance and take initiative.  Let go of past spending practices and start living within your earning power.  Pay attention to past mistakes and develop rational spending habits - learn to budget, plus develop fruitful investment strategies to prepare your future.  You do not need to be wealthy in order to be happy, but you do need to provide adequately for your future so that it promotes freedom of choice and movement.

  9. Laziness – The adage, “The early bird gets the worm” certainly has truth.  Nothing is achieved by doing nothing, so let go of your sluggish behaviour.  If you refuse to take action, nobody else will do it for you - learn to be responsible for your own life expectations.  In order to reach your desired destination it will take hard work and then more hard work.  And remember, life is too short, so up you get and off you go!

  10. Unreliable or Irresponsible – Neither of these traits will promote success.  Those who blame others or circumstances for their failures are irresponsible for their own learning process.  Those who are habitually late or play the game of no-show display an unreliable attitude and selfishness, not only to others, but also to themselves.  Being reliable and responsible are not virtues for the benefit of others, but should be developed for self – for your own soul’s progress.

  11. Procrastination – Earthly existence is a very short journey, so it doesn’t help if you continuously put things off for a later date.  You can always conjure up a million reasons to procrastinate, but you are not fooling anybody but yourself and as time runs shorter, you will feel the pinch.  It is better if you learn to schedule your work and time into segments based on passionate interest and importance, but be sure to finish each before moving to the next.

  12. Lack of Awareness or Focus – Those who hide their head in the sand are not just avoiding life, but are also sleeping through it and are not honouring their authentic self.  So wake up and open your awareness!  Be willing to let go of living in the past or existing in a fog.  Become fully aware and focus on the quality of your present life in order to make the necessary preparations to move forward into a more joyful future.  Only you have the power to do this; others cannot do it for you.

  13. Emotional Trauma – This can be created from experiencing distress relating from death of a loved one, divorce, life-threatening illness, loss of home and loss of employment, as well as war, poverty or natural disaster conditions.  Although each situation can produce devastating emotional results, resist becoming stuck in tragedy or trauma.  It is important to morn the loss or feel the pain, but then be willing to let it go by learning the lesson that it provides so that you can move forward in life.  These circumstances allow for greater personal and spiritual growth, because they provide an opportunity to build strength, resilience, independence and personal power.

  14. Stress – This can relate to feeling over-burdened, over-whelmed or out-of-control from conditions created at work or home.  Resist trying to do all and be all – let go and learn to delegate.  It is important to take time out for relaxation – pamper yourself by doing things that you enjoy and that bring pleasure.  Too much stress will impact your bodily functions and hormones leaving you more susceptible to illness or disease.

  15. Lack of Discipline – Accomplishing most anything requires discipline.  So if you want to succeed in transforming into joyfulness, then you will need to adopt discipline into your daily routine.  An attitude of discipline is required for maintaining a good, positive and solid foundation to base your life on.  Let go of disorderly routines that do not serve you well.  Be disciplined to eat nutritiously; be disciplined to avoid over-indulging the senses; be disciplined to attain adequate sleep; be disciplined to meditate daily; be disciplined to obtain daily exercise; be disciplined to maintain good work ethics; be disciplined to be honest and sincere; be disciplined to be responsible and decisive; be disciplined to treat others with honour and respect; be disciplined to show humility; be disciplined to act with integrity; be disciplined to find balance in all aspects of your life; be disciplined to enjoy life each day and be disciplined to love yourself for whom you truly are.

Achieving Joyfulness

It will take considerable time and effort to let go of factors inhibiting your transformation into joyfulness.  So how do you know when you have accomplished this?

Joyfulness is a state of being that is reached after experiencing each setback.  But in spite of this, you still forge ahead with goals or dreams and learn necessary life lessons through all circumstances until you no longer have any need to acquire material “stuff” or maintain a false persona or achieve an approved status.

You will feel an explosion of loving, happy and contented energy being expelled from within.

Your attitude and perception about your earthly existence will change.  You will become more loving; you will be more trusting; you will be fearless; you will be more helpful toward others, the community or even globally; you will be more inquisitive to seek the truth in all matters; you will become more patient; you will act more positively; you will become more tolerant and you will exhibit more natural creativeness, plus you will become more in tune with universal reality and the intangible.

Once you attain this level of joyfulness, despite any insurmountable odds presented, each day will still be regarded as an elated universal blessing.
