The Sweetness of Life

The sweetness of life comes and goes so rapidly, in the blink of an eye,
and too often you forget to enjoy until all goodness passes by.
But if there is a lesson learned from those who go before you,
it is to heed from their mistakes, not repeating what they do.

For those of you who wallow in pity or self-righteous grief,
it is time to turn the tables and re-address your beliefs.
It is time to wake from deep sleep to re-assess your domain,
and to take responsibility for each and every change.

There is no use living life embedded in misery and fear,
this will only cause heartache creating a sea of tears.
And it is useless to pretend that you no longer care,
for part of your journey is to love while you share.

What is the point of missing what your heart desires,
wouldn’t it be better to face your internal fire?
To put out the flames that that ignite your deep sorrow,
and replace it with a more joyful tomorrow.

The sweetness of life can pass you by if you do not learn,
how to forgive others or how to lovingly discern.
A lesson of heart is to value differences we each uphold,
and to feel with sincere gratitude without being told.

If you lack the sweetness of life shown in simple ways,
you will forfeit feeling satisfied each and every day.
And this would be a travesty too regretful to contemplate,
so grasp at the sweetness of life, don’t ignore too long or wait.
