The People Have Spoken

The people have spoken and have made their choice,
as they stand together to be heard as one voice.
Their choice clearly indicates that change is foreseen,
because hopes and dreams can’t rely on what’s been.

For that is the past, which is gone forever more,
with the future now holding so much in store.
The people have spoken with a united force,
overcoming their fears to pave a new course.

They mark their freedom with resounding applause,
for the people have spoken for a liberating cause.
They set into history a new wave of thought,
with deliberate balance and acceptance not bought.

This is a time when repression can’t be,
it is truth and honour that the people now see.
Divided they fall, but together they stand,
and the people have spoken across the land.

Although times aren’t easy, with disappointments aired,
the concluding results are viewed as they're shared.
And while ensuing years may be a test that is cast,
the people have spoken that they're ready at last.

New changes are coming and are expected, no doubt;
harmony and peace are goals to think about.
To provide relief that's for a greater good,
now the people have spoken, just as they should.
