Reiki Self-treatment - Mini Daily Routine
 

Reiki Level 1 is traditionally classified as the self-healing level – where a student learns to sense energy.

The main benefit for being attuned to Reiki Level 1 is to obtain necessary knowledge, plus gain the ability for how to heal the “self” before attempting to heal others.

Too often, healers are so eager to help others, but either ignore or forget about healing or changing their own problems or afflictions.  However, in order to provide more useful service to others, it is necessary to elevate your own energy vibration to one that is strong, clear and wholesome.

Continuous Reiki practice on self provides many substantial benefits…...

  1. Each time you practice, the hand movements become automatic.

  2. Each time you practice, you develop stronger communication to the universal source or to your spirit healing team.

  3. Each time you practice, you develop stronger deep-breathing habits, which helps to channel and circulate Reiki (or universal energy).

  4. Each time you practice, you draw (or channel) in greater amounts of Reiki (or universal energy).

  5. Each time you practice, you circulate and disperse greater amounts of Reiki (or universal energy) through you, as well as out through you.

  6. Each time you practice, you strengthen your own immune system.

  7. Each time you practice, you revitalize your own energy reserves.

  8. Each time you practice, you re-align and re-balance your energy on all levels – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual.

  9. Each time you practice, you unblock stuck energy (past or present).

  10. Each time you practice, you release pain, discomfort, toxins or impurities.

  11. Each time you practice, you encourage your left and right brain hemispheres to function with more clarity, improved awareness and functional balance.

  12. Each time you practice, you trigger the body into self-healing mode.

  13. Each time you practice, you relieve stress which promotes relaxation and peacefulness.

  14. Each time you practice, you elevate your own energy vibration to a purer and higher frequency.

  15. Each time you practice, you open your heart chakra so you can give, plus receive greater amounts of unconditional love, unconditional forgiveness, unconditional compassion and unconditional understanding.

Sadly, many healers deliberately choose to attend to the difficulties of others, rather than acknowledge their own – a cover-up is simply easier, and by spending precious time aiding others, it provides a valid excuse for ignoring self.

In Reiki Level 1, numerous hand positions are taught for giving self-treatment, as well as techniques for applying Reiki to others or to animals and children.  Unfortunately, most Reiki students complain that practicing on self requires considerable dedication, effort and time.  Time is of the essence in a busy schedule, so most find difficulty dedicating themselves to a daily practice routine.  Thus, they fall into the habit of only applying Reiki when absolutely necessary or as a last resort.

Most teachers demonstrate approximately 17 to 20 hand positions for a full Reiki self-treatment routine.  If a student allots 2-minutes for each hand position, they will need approximately 35 to 40-minutes of unobstructed time. 3-minutes for each hand position requires about 60-minutes, which really tests the limits for what a person is realistically willing to contribute on a daily basis, even if it’s for their own benefit and well-being.

The two major complaints that I hear over and over, again and again is, “I don’t have any extra time – I’m so busy!” or “I’m just too tired after work.

So here is a mini daily self-treatment Reiki routine that requires only 5 minutes per day, which eliminates struggling to “find” time.  This mini routine demonstrates only 9 hand positions.  Each hand position can vary from 1/2-minute to 3-minutes for each position.

For example:

  1. 1/2-minute x 9 positions = 5 minutes total.

  2. 1-minutes x 9 positions = 10 minutes total.

  3. 3-minutes x 9 positions = 30 minutes total.

  4. And so on – you do the math!

Before starting, you can set your intention to something that is personal or specific, but the over-all intention is that Reiki energy will go to where it is most needed – this eliminates worrying about missing a certain area of the body.

Instructions for Mini Self-healing Reiki Routine - 9 Hand Positions
This can be done any time - morning, noon or night, basically whenever it is convenient.  It can also be done while laying down or sitting in a comfortable position.  If you have a tendency to fall asleep while lying down, then try doing it in the sitting position.  The main importance is that you do it daily and consistently so that the routine becomes automatically ingrained as an automatic habit.

Step 1: Ground & protect yourself.
Step 2
: Set your intention (E.g. heal your illness, release pain/discomfort, remove energy blockages or cleanse & balance your body, re-energize, etc.).
Step 3
: Check your energy centres to monitor energy flow (E.g. pendulum scan).
Step 4
: Apply Reiki starting with the head positions down to your root chakra (9-positions total).  Hold each position for 30 seconds (5 min. total) to 1 minute (10 min. total) or 2 minutes (20 min. total).
Step 5
: Put yourself in a special bubble of colour.
Step 5
: Say a prayer of thanks & gratitude to your “spirit healing team” for all help & guidance received.
Step 6
: Re-check your energy centres to monitor and verify changes to energy flow (E.g. pendulum scan)

 

 

Of course, as with any type of practice, the more you do it, the more proficient you become.

It’s not about how many Reiki levels you have attained or how many Reiki attunements you have received or how many different styles of Reiki you have learned that makes you a “powerful” healer.

It is simply having the determination and discipline to cultivate a daily Reiki practice routine that aids in developing and honing your current skills and knowledge…… and this is what creates a “powerful” and influential Reiki practitioner and healer.
