Is This All There Is?

There comes a time in everyone’s life,
when this question stabs at the heart like a knife.
Some call it growing pains, as you well know,
while others call it change….a mid-life crises, or so.

It can be launched by great loss or emotional stress,
or by having a near-death experience, no less.
But really, the soul is shouting and crying out,
that it’s time to look in the mirror and then turn about.

This question emerged several years back,
and as this happened it stopped me in my tracks.
Wondering, searching, and then looking all around,
the effect was shell-shock, a feeling so profound.

A fundamental part just seemed to be missing,
for this is mainly what the soul kept insisting.
Some may think that the puzzle is solved by,
getting a divorce or developing new ties.

Or perhaps over time with accrued material gain,
contentment is restored through wealth or even fame.
But logical analysis just leaves a void within,
and radical changes don’t seem to solve a thing.

When more thought is given to pondering this question,
the Higher Self readily gives better direction.
For even with material gain, wealth or great fame,
happiness or contentment will not be the same.

Because all loving harmony hides deep within the soul,
and finding the truth must be an ultimate goal.
So to find the key to unlock the puzzle now,
first listen to the soul and it will show you how.

For once the soul reveals its secrets and each goal,
integrity is maintained with a promise to uphold.
What the question seeks….is the truth of who you are,
and becoming this truth will unleash your shining star.
