Spiritual/Inspirational Poetry
By Margaret Jang of One Source Learning Centre

If Life Throws You a Bushel of Lemons

If life throws you a bushel of lemons,
what do you propose to do with them?
Are you going to weep in self-pity,
or wallow in misery to the depths of your being?
Or are you going to take this opportunity
to learn to build courage and resilience,
so you can move forward along your path,
to a higher purpose that's unforeseen?

This is an opportunity that has been given
for a very specific reason.
Of course, at first it may seem unfair
to those blinded to a gift that is purposely given.
And instead, will only view it as a hindrance,
or perhaps as a stroke of bad luck
transpired from past karma,
or though ignorance of right-choice living.

In essence, lemons are given when it is time
for your soul to experience a spurt of new growth.
Through first-hand experience, without any guarantee
for an outcome of being good or bad.
But through this cycle, it is natural to learn
consideration and tolerance for others.
With emphasis on building greater empathy,
and understanding feelings, whether happy or sad.

So if life throws you a bushel of lemons…...rejoice!
And create a sweet nectar of lemonade,
which will quench your soul's thirst to positively evolve,
with deliberate intent.
For this is your chance to intimately connect,
to share higher knowledge and wisdom with others.
And know that you are privileged with a divine gift,
in which your soul can finally learn......how to be content.
