A Balanced Heart

In difficult times, just how do you start,
to keep a balanced and open heart?
You might be told there is no such thing,
except learning how is the lesson it brings.

It doesn’t come easy; this is for sure,
and where heartache hides, you may feel there’s no cure.
But stop all thinking - instead perceive what you feel,
for the answers await you and each one is real.

Although you dislike what you may have to do,
stay humble, be calm and remain gracious too.
For during this lifetime you stay here to learn,
how to choose wisely and how to discern.

And whenever you’re lost or feel out of sync,
step back to breathe deeply, plus try not to think.
Take time to relax, allowing judgements go,
then wisdom within will soon start to flow.

But then you must listen to information within,
through symbols or feelings or messages that sing.
Perhaps it will feel like a shifting scale,
where true balance follows, always without fail.

And this you will know without ever being told,
for serenity and contentment undoubtedly take hold.
An abundance of joy with love is then cast,
creating a balanced heart…… that’s eternal at last.
